ION Mapper - External App XML to Infor BOD

Hi All,

I'm currently in the process of trying to handle a data transfer from an external application into an Infor ERP (Infor CSI).

After spending an afternoon digging through the documentation aimlessly I thought that I'd try my luck here!

Some issues that I've come across is - Defining the External App XML Format inside ION. I see that you can import XML Files in Data Catalog/ Custom Object Schemas as an 'ANY' Type object which I've done, however going into the data mapper I can't see how I can change the mapping from BOD to ANY to try and bring it up to be mapped. Can you only map BOD's to BOD's?

I'm having similar issues for the BOD That I want to map the XML file to. I see how to define a BOD in CSI (Which I've attempted to do), but I can't see how i'd export the bod definition from CSI to an XML File for import through the Custom Object Schemas Utility. Is this something that needs to be written by hand and imported?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi

You cannot map Any Document with BOD by using ION Mapper.

To map that, your Any Document for ex: an External XML, that need to be registered with ION Metadata, to do that use file template to register, there is an option to Generate Meta Data( will be enabled once you maintain some information there and after save).

By this process your external xml will be converted as BOD and can use ION Mapper for Mapping.

That is awesome! Thank you very much for the advice, This looks to have generated the Sync, Get, Load etc BOD's.

Is there any chance that you might be able to shed some light on how I'd go about importing the bod that I've defined in CSI (And Mapped My Destination IDO to) so that I can now use the mapping tool?

Maybe if I understood your query in the right way, Please follow below steps to register the external XML.

Under ION Connect> File Template component.

Check below snapshot highlights. Once you maintain info like below, you can click on generate, it will show a dialog to select document ID, select and click ok.

Your BOD Registration is DONE!.

You can see generated BOD under Metadata.

I think I've done the step that you've described successfully. I've attached a small diagram of what we're trying to achive (Apologies if my understanding is lacking)

You can see that as per your instructions, we've got an XML File that we're mapping to a file template. This is what you've shown and what we've done as seen here:

What we want to do now is map it to a BOD That is recognized inside our CSI Application. I've defined the BOD in the replication Documents form:

My question from this point is how to I take a Replication Document / Bod that has been defined in CSI and import it into ION so that I can use it as the other side of the Mapping Utility in ION? Then send that Mapped BOD into CSI to be processed.
