One window crashes, have to reboot Visual

Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is anyway around this problem, for example: I usually have up to 8 different program windows within Visual open at any one given time. If any one of those crashes (i.e Manufacturing Window) and I have to close it, it will not reopen unless I reboot the whole Visual software. This can be pretty inconvenient when I'm super busy with inventory control because I have to reload every window and get back to where I was when the crash happened. It doesn't happen often so I don't expect it and have any kind of protocol to avoid it. That said, it's not the crashing that bothers me, it's having to reboot and reload EVERYTHING.

Any thoughts?

I have the same problem! I assumed that it had something to do with the fact that our system is a bit older. Drives me crazy!

I'm on Visual 6.5.1 and have to reload everything if one Visual piece crashes

Still same in 7.0, which is what we use. Wish they would fix this.

I'm in 7.0.0 also. We have downloaded the first service pack. Does anyone know if it is repaired in any later updates?

We're using 7.0.0.124 sp3! I don't see anything in the knowledge base so I came here. Unfortunately I'm not the only one with the problem

Try this,
Go to task manager,Processes(Right click the tool bar at the bottom) look for the window's description that gives you problem. If it's running Hit End Process. Then go back to visual and reopen the window.

Tried Task Manager approach in 7.0--didn't work.

Task Manager options sometimes works in 7.0 and sometimes does not. Usually works for us. Just have to make sure you are ending the correct process. If not, then you have to kill Visual.
