We have a basic unit sales price in part maintenance but all customers have different discount codes. We are finding that when a discount is applied, we are finishing up with a figure with 6 decimal places as the discounted unit price. When multiplied by the quantity supplied, this gives a rounded extended price (2 decimal places).
The difficulty is that when you round the one off discounted price to 2 decimal places and then multiply it by the quantity, you often get a different result to the extended price.
As we are supplying large items which cost hundreds of pounds, we do not want to show 6 decimal places on the discounted price and our customers do not want to input 6 decimal places on their own accounting systems. If we don't show all the decimal places, the customer thinks that we can't add up when he looks at the extended price!
Is anyone else having problems with this and, if so, could somebody advise me how to deal with it? Infor have told us the software is working 'as expected' so they do not see this as a defect. Meanwhile our customers are complaining.
Thanks
