effective date

Hi - is there a way that I can set effective date to always equal the actual date the transaction is being done? Example when employees change address we do not want them to be able to back date the effective date because that affects other things. We would like the effective date to automatically enter for the employee to the actually date the change is being done.

We have had a similar conversation at my current working place.

1. So short answer - No you can't Configure the form to have the Effective date Fixed to the current date.

2. Depending on if you are willing to edit the IPA flows that are triggered to complete the action you can edit the IPA to Edit the Parameter View.

When you Edit the Parameter view - Just edit it to update the action request with the Date you like.

Actually you can do this by modifying the LPL code for the desired actions. In our case, we prefill the effective date on address changes with today's date and the customer never even sees the field. Below is the code for an initial value that we use (this is actually from our address change action):
