Modifying "Lawson Environment Information" from a Flow

"QUESTION FROM LINK: I've created a flow to build new Resource records for my portal users using the Resource Update node. However, I don't see a way to update the Lawson Environment settings (as seen in LSA) from my flow -- specifically, I need to update the Data Area/ID field. Within the Lawson Security Administrator, there a 3 options to User Maintenance: Edit RM INfo, Manage Identities and Edit Lawson Environment Information. Using the Resource Update node, I can work with the first two components. And, I can see where I can put a value in ProductLine attribute in the RM area. But I'm not seeing a way to update any information in that 3rd area for Lawson Environment settings"

The question in the link above was recently posed on LawsonGuru but got no real solutions offered. I happen to come the issue myself a while back and i'm now curious if any one has an idea if this is possible/doable in IPA? And it should be - It's kind of the last puzzle in a comprehensive security flow i'm testing that provisions across a federated system. The screenshot belows is what the question refers to - i'd like to update via IPA. I also don't see options to do this in the Resource Update node. Feedback appreciated. Thanks.

The Resource Update node does not provide the ability to update the Lawson Environment Information. I have been able to update it using a combination of the Msg Builder and WebRun nodes. The caveat to this, it's not an Infor supported method.

We are a Windows shop and I use Sql to update the USERINFO R_USER tables. I use Javascript to create the NTID from the UID that I get from a Resource Query node.

Bear with me. Unknown territory here - So I'm assuming that entry(ies) in the USERINFO R_USER tables correspond to the values on Lawson Environment Information screen? If so, what field(s) on that screen holds the NTID? and more importantly, what is the NTID? I might be familiar with it but the terminology maty be throwing me off. Thanks.

That works too. I try to use the nodes as much as possible, but webruns can be handy as well. I'm curious to know how you handle that issue using the msgbuilder and webrun node. If you could share the contents of the msgbuilder plus the string in webrun node. I'd appreciate that.

Overall, sounds like i have to include the follows steps to provision the Lawson Environment Information screen (feel free to correct me if wrong):

1. Using the Resource Query node, get my resource's UID.

2. Run that UID through a javascript within say, an Assign node to get its NTID equivalent.

3. Using a SQL nodes (Query and/or Xsaction), insert this NTID in to DB tables - USERINFO and R_USER

4. Check for the entries on Lawson Environment Information screen.

The Loadusers command will update at least Data Area. I use a file access node to build an xml file then load the file with the loadusers command with the following command:

loadusers -f "<!FilePath><!UserID>.add.tmp" -d <!Domain> -p <!appProdline.toUpperCase()>

This is the file I generate to update the productline:

I don't assign User Group, Printer Group or Job Queue group by default. It may also be possible in the loadusers file.

We do this as well. Windows shop. Basically I run two Lawson Resource Query nodes (one to pull the users and one to pull the user ID). Probably could do them both in one node I just find it easier to separate them. Once I have this data I flip it through an assign node and use JavaScript to convert the hex value into something more useful. Next I check against the R_USER table in the GEN database to see if the username value exists. If not I insert that username into the table (if its a new user) and I also insert a value for the PRODUCTLINE which populates the DataArea/ID field referenced in the OP's screenshot.

Feel free to pm me to share specifics on your implementation. To your point, i think my only requirement for now is just to populate that DataArea/ID field. Seeing it visually would help me emulate. Thanks.

Are you on premise or cloud? We use an IPA to do this. It was slightly different on prem than what we use in cloud.

Thanks all. Lots of good workarounds provided here. I was able to settle on and implement one of the solutions offered.
