Hi all,
We have two sites currently complaining of poor performance within Opera - very slow to logon, slow to open forms, slow to post transactions. After investigation by ourselves and their IT companies the decision was taken to remove the Windows 10 registry keys previously applied to all computers. The keys applied:-
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesLanmanWorkstationParameters]
"FileNotFoundCacheLifetime"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesLanmanWorkstationParameters]
"FileInfoCacheLifetime"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesLanmanWorkstationParameters]
"DirectoryCacheLifetime"=dword:00000000
After removal, users immediately began reporting improved performance - Opera was much faster to login, much faster opening forms and posting transactions. The performance was back to a more acceptable level.
However, these same sites have now begun to report data visibility issues - they post transactions and cannot see what they have posted and it appears at some point later on in the day. So we have reapplied the registry keys to affected computers and those users are again reporting performance degradation.
Does anyone have any further information on what is causing this issue? Are there any other workarounds that can be applied to prevent the drop in performance caused by the application of the keys?
What is confusing is that not all sites are reporting a drop in performance, even though they have these same keys applied.
The current sites in questions are Windows Server 2016 Std/Windows 10 v1903 and Windows 2012 R2/Windows 10 v1809/v1903.
Thanks,
Alex
