Frequent failures to log in to Visual Mfg.

We frequently have users that experience 19005 errors - Unable to establish initial database connection... even when entering the correct password.  It may fail a couple times before finally logging the user in.  Anyone else experience this issue and have a resolution?  We are currently on 9.0.4.

I have had a series of exactly what you are talking about. What you are having is a database / visual communication problem. You can do 3 things. (1.) Go into the database by the microsoft server management suite and delete the user completely then rebuild him in Visual. {time consuming} (2.) In Visual keep changing the password like 3 or 4 times in a row and eventually the database will update and let him in.{ This has worked for me several times} (3.) If you need to get this person in quickly then just create a new user and copy the user profile from the old user to the new user. Now depending on what version of SQL you are using compared to the version of the of Visual you are running I think is part of the problem, or simply the core coding in Visual needs to be updated from 1997 version to something more modern, instead being patched constantly. I am running 9.08 sp1 on a 2019 sql sever. Little did I know the Windows 2019 server are unsupported until Visual 10 is released. Good luck.
