Procurement Template Filter PO100

I noticed there is a Procurement Template Filter on PO100 (see below). Is there a link from the Procurement Template to the Req Line? I am trying to determine if end users are utilizing the templates we maintain for them and would like to query which templates are being used and by whom. It takes a lot to maintain templates and if they are not value add, I would rather eliminate then continue to support.

As far as I know, nothing in Lawson tracks the template usage. The PO100 filter filters for the items on the template - not lines that came from it - if ITEMA is on the template, the PO100 will convert all approved Requisition lines for ITEMA to a PO - regardless of where the line came from: IC140, IC142, RQ500, RQC, RQ10. The template isn't noted at all.

If anyone has found a way, we'd be delighted. We face the same issue - tons of importance put on templates but no idea if they actually get used.

Has anyone tried using the Doc Nbr that's displayed in PO15? Looks like every template has a unique Doc Nbr. I haven't had time to test it.

The Help Screen for PO100 says the Filter is for the Doc Nbr on the Procurement Template. From a reporting standpoint, the tables PROCTEMP and PROCTEMPLN can identify items and Doc Nbrs on templates, but since an item can appear on multiple templates, it is, as Kat says, a heckuva task to marry the information together to really zero in on which of the (potentially) many templates the item is from. A "nice to have" would be for the REQLINE table and RQ10 to have a field that showed which template the item was pulled from to serve as the basis for a report.

It looks like it populates only on the POINTERAC table in the buyer work queue (PO23). It does not pull into the PO Line. Unfortunately since the POINTERFAC table is a temp table, it does not appear this is a field we can use for reporting.

Enhancement Request 36155 was the one I endorsed asking for someway to track usage by template. It's gotten to "Researching"

So - I opened an incident on this and got nowhere. That field on PO100 is NOT for PO15.1 template IDs per Incident 14307092

Hello, I have received word back from development and here are the findings:

PO100 Procurement Template Number field will NOT choose any requisition created from a PO15 template, it will only choose system code PT, POINTERFAC records that were created in PO27.3 and PO27.4

Development is going to create some documentation for this also.

There aren't any "item" lists for PO100. You can run by item type, if you have all one item type on a template. Or by requesting locations. Maybe this would be a good enhancement request to have an item attribute list for PO100.

This makes no sense to me as PO27.3/.4 go straight to Purchase Orders - not POINTERFAC - the whole thing makes me realize why people dislike Infor.
