2020 W-4 Testing

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has started testing the new W-4 CTP that just came out this week. Has anyone had success validating the new 2020 tax tables? We are able to validate the 2019 ones, but are off on 2020 tax calculations. Any suggestions on how to validate? We're currently using Publication 15-T from the IRS website.

I am having the same results with able to validate to the penny the 2019 W4 but unable to validate the 2020 W4. This morning I will ty with the Excel file the IRS has put out.

The 15-T on the IRS site is old, so we weren't able to validate with it. However, they posted an excel sheet earlier this week that seems to work for validation. Make sure you have BSI bulletin 179 that came out yesterday.

BSI released the final Federal calculation tables with Bulletin #179. Ensure you are on TF10.w with Bulletin #179.

Question about BSI bulletin 179 - the email notification we got yesterday said on-premise in the subject line but referred only to Saas in the body of the email. Found the email confusing. Has any BSI on-premise customers installed bulletin 179?

For PR13.1 are you making any changes other than adding the data from the W4 into Tax Info 2?

In PR13 Tab "Tax Info 2,", we added Form Year=2020 / Multiple Jobs=2 and kept "Mar Stat"=2 (Married) for an employee we tested. We are getting different result than IRS' IncomeTaxWithholdingAssistantForEmployers2020.xlsx calculator.

But when we selected "Single" on the IRS' calculator, result matched Lawson's Mar Stat=2 (Married). Bottom line, Lawson's Married matched the Single filing status (1c) IRS' calculator. Is anyone getting the same results? Thanks!

If you are using the new form and choose "Married filing jointly " you will have a status of 4 not 2. 2 is old status in 2019

While testing inputting a new hire, we noticed the PR13.2 screen does not have the new 2020 Tab like the PR13.1. I'm thinking a subsequent patch will be needed to update the PR13.2. Has anyone else run across this with the PR13.2? And if so did you report to Support?

After changing status to 4, result now matches IRS table. Thank you! I wonder if Infor will release new status code with description "Married filing jointly" to match the new W4 form. Right now, 4=Married both spouses working may not apply to all employees who are current 2=Married"

I started calculating the 2020 W4's and I'm having the same issues as others. The 2019 calculations are coming up, but not with the 2020 W-4 changes. I tried to use the percent method from the Publication 15-T and still am not getting a correct amount.

It appears we are still getting the 2019 tax tables as well. We use BSI cloud and are on 10.0.w Reg Bulletin # 180 according to BSI. Anyone made any progress with this?

Has anyone successfully queried the tables for PR13 tax info 2 tab? Ctrl-Shft-O says that the table is RGP, but the fields in that table definitely do not match the fields that Ctrl-Shift-O are returning. We issued checks using status=02 that should have (in many? cases) been status=04. We are trying to determine how many employees were impacted by this.

If you review KB article #2096388, it lists the FLD-NBR from the PRREGPARM table that you can query for the new W-4 fields.
