We are currently using Visual 9.0.6 and VTA 8.something. We are having an issue where periodically something is locking up Visual and the people trying to scan into or out of jobs are getting the "circle of death" where nothing is happening.
Now, I understand this can happen with record locking issues and can use SP_who2 to figure out who is locking up what in Sql Server management studio. However, this happened most recently yesterday morning right at the start of business so it was unlikely a long running query as most office personnel were not in at the time.
As soon as I got the notification that there was this issue, I ran sp_who2 and saw no lockups.
Does anyone else have this problem and what are you doing about it? Apparently, when this happened yesterday, none of our direct labor personnel were able to scan into jobs at the start of business resulting in a lot of work on the supervisor's part in putting the scans in manually.
