ACA Waive Plan
barbara-pincheon
We are having an issue when an employee transfers from full-time/part-time to prn and didn't have the insurance that's lawson is giving the incorrect code. For prn employees we offer health insurance to employee and dependents no spouse and therefore using the 1c code when they transfer to prn status. For example an employee doesn't elect health insurance during open enrollment and has a waive plan on bn32.1 (our plan year runs July to June). The effective dates of the waive plan are 7/1/14 to 06/30/15 and 7/1/15. The employee goes prn in August. The 1095 should be 1E 2H from January through August, September through December 1C 2H but lawson is giving the employee the 1c code starting in July. Anyone else having this issue or have any suggestions on what is causing this? I even tried to start a new decline line on bn32.1 with effective date 9/1/15 and it didn't correct this either.

We have the same issue and have been entering lots of bn27.2's. We just tested something that seems like it will work to get the right offer codes on the employees that ended coverage during the year. if we take the exception report that the bn729 produces and then put those employees back into the group eligibility on HR55.2 for the medical plans, the bn729 picks them up properly and then when we run the bn990, it is picking up the cobra waives from BN32 and putting the correct offer code on the employees. I don't know if this will work for everyone but entering hundreds of bn27.2 records isn't what we want to do when then correct plans are on BN32.

I tried correcting a record via the bn27.2 but when I reran the bn297 for that employee the error was still there. Is there a step I am missing?

After making changes to BN27.1 or BN27.2, make sure to run the BN990 again before running the BN297 again.
