AGENDA ITEM #1: FACTS Development Partners - Heads Up
Please take note that the targeted mid-June 2020 release of FACTS has been cancelled. If your teams have been working on getting your FACTS code ready for delivery by the "Partner Code Due Date" previously announced as May 15th, 2020 you can relax - as that deadline is no longer effective.
Per FACTS Development "directives" issued by Catherine Henn there are to be no further FACTS releases until the FACTS Development Team is ready to release a FACTS version that is totally integrated with Infor OS. My original 'tentative' timeline for this to occur was June of 2021 but that was, and remains, only a very optimistic guess on when such a release would be ready to go GA.
So, once again, this means that the FACTS v9.3.2 release, originally scheduled for mid June of 2020, is cancelled and there will be NO further releases of FACTS until the INFOR OS/FACTS integration project is completed.
AGENDA ITEM #2: Goodbye From Jeff
As I have officially retired, and today (Friday, February 14th, 2020) is my last day of work at Infor, I wanted to take this final opportunity to say how much I have enjoyed the last almost 4 years working with all of you - FACTS Partners, FACTS Customers, the FACTS Development Team and the FACTS Support Team. I wish all of you the best of luck going forward. Little did I know, when I accepted a programming position with the FACTS Development Team, from Tim Plotner, in July of '16 that I would wind up scrambling to try and follow/fill in Tim's shoes upon his departure in May of '17. I almost retired THEN but Tim talked me into staying and stepping into his shoes. While I know I haven't come close to actually filling those HUGE shoes left behind by Tim....I was at least able to put my feet into them and plod along for the next 3 years...keeping FACTS moving along.
Again - I wish the entire FACTS community the best going forward. FACTS remains an amazing piece of software engineering and those of you running your companies on FACTS are STILL using the right tool for the job! I am proud that I was able to leave even a small piece of myself inside this amazing ERP software solution.
