Using Add-ins to update IC12

I am attempting to use Add-ins to update the GL Category on IC12. The only fields I am using to update are the Company, Item Location, Item Number, Description, and GL Category. I don't get an error message. It says upload complete, but nothing happens. What am I missing?

Try not mapping Description - it should be pulling that from IC11.

It did the same thing when I didn't map description. I don't feel like this is a complicated add-in, but for some reason i won't do anything.

Have you made sure that the GL Categories are built on IC04 for that IC12 location? I would think it would give you a different error if the accounts did not exist on IC04 but it was just a thought.

Is it returning "Change Complete-Continue" or no message at all - just the "Upload Complete" popup? I end up having to restart when that happens.

Yes the GL Categories are built on IC04. I just verified that. I would have thought it would give me an error of some time also.

It is just saying Upload complete. We don't get the Change Complete-Continue at all.

I would close down Excel and Addins and start fresh as Kat said. Could be something got corrupted in your upload when you were mapping the description.

Do you have a screenshot or two you could share?

Otherwise try the following.

- Make sure you are uploading in IC12.1 not IC12.2

- Make sure you are uploading to an actual item location and not a par location

- Make sure you are using "Upload" and not "Query"

- Make sure the columns are mapped correct

- Are you using F15 for the G/L?

- You should only need 4 pieces of data (Company, Location, Item, and the NEW GL Category

- Make sure you are uploading the new GL category not the old one

Are you uploading to the correct 'product line'? Are you selecting 'Change Only'?

I am uploading to the correct product line. I have done change only, I have done add only, and I have done the add then change. I get the same result no matter what I select.

Has there been a recent update to the environment? Do you have the latest version of Addins installed that's compatible with the current environment? You could try uninstalling and re-installing Addins.

I'm with Jon - this is an Excel/Add-In Issue. I have had sheets do this and it's just something about the file.

Try highlight just the section you want to upload and then copy and PASTE SPECIAL --> Values Only into a fresh clean worksheet. Close the original THEN open Add-Ins and see if that maps.
