GHR - Dual Relationship to Organization?

We currently maintain individuals in GHR in distinct Relationship to Organization statuses - Employee, Contractor, etc. but not at the same time.

In the past, they have been one or the other and we have had individuals transition between the two.
We now have a request to house an individual they want to maintain in an Employee Relationship to Org and also as PRN in a Contractor Relationship to Org status.

Do any of you support this practice currently or have seen anything similar? If so, do you do it by creating a separate distinct record for each type of Relationship to Org status?

What country is this for? Is the resource in a joint employer relationship? Because, as an employee they belong to your company, but as a contractor they belong to someone else's company. Is the resource truly working for two different companies? We have created a Joint Venture Work Type, but we only use this in countries where it is a legal employment status - we use it in Japan and China.

US - I know this has been raised as a concern in the past anytime there has been any discussions but wanted to explore options. The employee is an inpatient MedSurg nurse working at less than full time and would be PRN with a company that provides outpatient wound care services to the community on-site. Distinct roles and separate employers.

We do not create a separate distinct record. If they are an employee that is always their Relationship to Org. Then we add a secondary work assignment and use the Assignment Type 'CONTRACT' to show that the work assignment is for a non-employee role of contracted staff.

We have found that works very well for us. So just one resource record per person. If they are a student, we add a secondary work assignment for that as well with Assignment Type ' STUDENT'
