Infor Security Services - what is it?

I have an Infor guy asking me (he is doing the audit) to access the "ISS User Interface". I have no idea what he is talking about. Anyone know what this is and how you access it?

Hmmm. I need to know that too. I googled "What is Lawson ISS?" and the first entry led me to an Infor page all about it. It's Infor's new replacement for the LSA interface. Currently we are installing AD FS so we will soon be federated. But, we have no Landmark applications. The most relevant part of the web page is:

> Do not use ISS if your system is not federated

> If you are using LSF, v10 without using a Landmark application, you

> do not need to federate and you should not install or use ISS.

I will have to check with our consultants to see if I should be using ISS once AD FS is fully installed. I've been using LSA up to now.

https://<LSF Server>/scwebadminapp/index.html should give you access. You should have the scwebadminapp application under enterprise applications in WebSphere. If you don't, check the DSP install guide for how to install or update it.

ISS is the security tool used for federated environments. Is your LSF federated with Landmark? If so, then you should already be using ISS. IF NOT, then you need to clarify with the auditor that you are not yet on a federated environment.

The default URL for ISS would be http(s)://yourservername/scwebadminapp/index.html

Milo - by "LSA" you mean Lawson Security? The normal Security tool for LSF10? We certainly use that - and we don't use Landmark at all. We do use ADFS now though.

We use ADFS - we just had that implemented recently. We do NOT use Landmark.

ADFS authentication is completely separate from having LSF and Landmark federated.

You need to tell the auditor that you are ONLY on LSF. It's likely they're assuming you have a federated environment.

Yes, I meant the usual Lawson Security Administration tool. I haven't been told to use ISS by our consultants ... but then again, we don't have any Landmark apps installed. I will double-check with them, because a question not asked, can lead to trouble.

Just got an answer from our consultant.

"If you were running Landmark and IPA and other Landmark Applications such GHR, you link those two applications together with Infor Security services. But you are not using ISS at this time."

So it's not an issue for us. I let the Infor dude know.

No. No Landmark applications. (I don't know what IPA is.) Add clearly I don't know what "federated" means either. LOL.

I had assumed it was connected with ADFS because of Milo's statement: "Currently we are installing AD FS so we will soon be federated."
