Using Latex Indicator/Adding Sell Indicator on IC11

We are working to add the Miscellaneous tab on IC11 to utilize the Latex indicator. Right now we have applied the patch to test and are working to test. We tried to add a latex indicator on an item and it told us we had to have a sell UOM. We were told years ago by a consultant not to do this because it would allow your end users the capability of changing the UOM when placing a non-template order. Anyone had any experience with this?

Also, if you do use the Sell UOM column how do you handle it if there are 2 UOM's for an item? Which one do you put the the Sell UOM Indicator in?

Are you healthcare?

We are and we have Sell UOM marked as 1 on the stock uom and have never encountered the issue your consultant states? The BUY UOM populated will allow the users to change UOMs on replenishment but as far as I know, we just populate the Sell to avoid errors. We do not populate any other sell flags - just make it default to the Stock UOM and ignore it for the rest of it's life.

When we implemented Lawson in 2003 our Supply Chain consultant directed us to always set the Sell and Sell Price flag to 1 for lowest UOM. But she also said those flags are only used for retail operations. We also have never had any issues and we're using the latex indicator flag.

We've always had the Sell and Sell Price fields populated on all UOM's. We were always told to populate them in our training back in 1996. Lowest UOM's have 1's populated and the other(s) have 2's.

Like Kat, we only populate the SELL and SELL PRICE on the lowest unit of measure and leave everything else blank except Buy and occasionally Trans on other units of measure.
