Beneficiaries in GHR Benefits

Is updating your beneficiaries though out the year a self-service feature in GHR? Do employees need to do this as a life event? How do your employees currently update and designate their beneficiaries in GHR?

Sorry, I don't have an answer but do have the same question.   Have you had any luck getting an answer?

We tried life events in GHR but it allows the employee to change the benefit elections as well as assign beneficiaries.  Haven't found a way to prevent election changes yet.

We track our beneficiaries for all Life Insurances (basic and supplemental) on the Basic Life Insurance. We have a Life Event to add/change beneficiaries that is accessible for all employees at any time to complete. Our Basic Life Insurance Plan is a default plan so they cannot change the coverage amount on that plan. We do not have a waive plan for that Enrollment group and make it required. We do not have any issues with this and it works well.

We also include the Basic Life Insurance in our New Hire Life Event in order to collect beneficiary election from everyone.

Was there any additional setup as far as enrollment groups and/or enrollment group plan rules?  Did you have any voluntary plans?  Our issue is we have the plans displayed but we can't prevent them from making election changes.  Tried to setup new enrollment groups and corresponding plan rules and unchecking all the check boxes in the "Enrollment Changes Allowed" section, but it won't let us.  we get an error: "Benefit plan must be coverage type of coverage options or be a waive plan".  Can you describe your setup?  I assume it's like ours but since you are only selecting company auto enrolled benefits it's not an issue?  Although for us they can uncheck those during the process which isn't ideal.
