W4 EMSS Phase 2 Update 1 patch. Anyone apply? Did you have issues?

I am working on trying to install SHR_1000070087_38_patch (the Phase 2 W4 Patch)

When I run the installer , none of the environments show up for me to choose to update.

I ran the 37 patch in December, and had no issue whatsoever.

I have opened a ticket with Lawson, but im not so sure on their answer. They are wanting me to do a base install of the webserver and other things, and I do not feel that is the issue.

I think there is some sort of disconnect somewhere causing our environments not to show on the drop down of the installer. I rebooted the server as well with no luck.

The past patch applied fine.

Any thoughts? I wanted to reach out here first before I start following their suggestion, as it just doesn't seem correct to me.

No one has applied the most recent EMSS update for the Phase 2 W4 stuff??

Since putting in the CTP 121887 we are having problems with our PR160

Can you elaborate on the issue you are having. We had ours installed just recently into our Test environment and then into Production yesterday and we haven't encountered any issues. I ran 2 different PR160's in Test without a problem.

We encountered issues with the PR160 too. Our PR160 didn't produce an achs report and displayed an "Ern2 Record Exceeded Limit Size of" message on the PR160. We downloaded another CTP to fix the PR160 and it looks like it fixed some of our issues.

Jeanne - Can you advise which CTP fixed that issue? We are experiencing the same.

This is good info on the new CTP121887, as I applied that to TEST yesterday, but my original issue was due to me not running enter.cmd before trying to apply the EMSS update patch.

I hope to learn what issues you all are having with the PR160 and CTP121887, it is on our list to test it.

1302957 - Understood. We aren't touching EMSS until we get the core CTP working properly first. Additionally, Lawson has been incredibly slow to update things that we couldn't wait for and had to customize our EMSS W4 to suppress the Fed Exemption display and the verbiage to match the form in the tax listing screen. Once we get the core Lawson working, we'll apply the delivered W4 and payment modeling to see what we might need to fix again.

so bad patch is CTP 121887

and good patch is CTP120726 ?

I don't believe that's the case. I could be wrong. 121887 is a big patch that includes many things for Phase 2 of the 2020 W4 stuff.

It looks like CTP120726 was a CTP that was issued from October of 2019.

1302957, we also thought like you, we had already applied the phase 2 patch and thought the fix patch was too old. So when we tested PR160 and got the same error as Jeanne K, we opened a case in Infor, and they told us to apply patch 120726. When we applied it, the only items being updated were a couple of work file members. Considering that the error seems to be pointing to a bad record length, this makes sense. It looks like Infor should have probably included these workfile members with - I'm guessing the phase 1 patch - and neglected to do so.

The the only programs that we use that the patch actually ended up changing are PR160 and PR80. We are in the middle of retesting those, and the fix patch appears to have taken care of the issue.

Is anyone having issues with their Payment Modeling in self-service once the patches are applied? If I fill in the fields with new values and click calculate, the results are coming back correct but the new values are not staying in the fields (Multiple Jobs, Dependents, Other Income and Deductions). The fields clear out during the calculation. FED and State appear to be acting the same.

I believe that Infor already said that Payment Modeling didn't work with the new updates and was a priority 2 or priority 3 fix.

If you are referring to the EMSS form for employees the actual amounts that the employee list to the left side of form total up on the buckets to the right side, this is how ours are showing but still flows to the PR13 form. We also discovered that for the employee to remove those amounts from step 3 for the dependents, and other income are that they need to enter a blank in the field or the delete key to remove the totals to the right.
