PR24.1 Shift Table
rchudek1
I am looking for a way to set up pay codes by job code for adder type pay codes. These pay codes are similar to evening and night differentials. We are near the maximum amount for PR20.4 pay codes so I need to find another way to set up pay codes for specific job codes. I did create a PR24.1 table for weekend differential- set it up just like the evening differential and ran a test. My test results were as expected and paid correctly. Even though weekend differential is not based on what shift an employee is in or works, I was able to use this table and get the pay I needed. Has anyone done this? or does anyone have other options they use? This seems so easy- I want to make sure I am not missing anything.

We use PR24 to pay all types of differentials (weekend, charge, lead, standby) and build these tables by either job code or schedule and grade. We find this to be the most efficient versus managing additional duplicate pay codes based on job code.

Barbdh and Rachel, I like that you're using PR24 to pay charge, lead, etc. How does Lawson know how many hours of these types of pay to pay? What timekeeping system do you use? We have an 'add on' pay code that we want to pay to specific qualifying individuals for every worked hour.
We use Kronos and I'm having the timekeeper add pay code with the number of hours worked for the pay period. It would great if there was a way to pay 'add on' pay without the timekeeper having to do this.
Any ideas?

We have a few timekeeping systems (Ceridian, Kronos and API) but are migrating are facilities to API. All 3 of these systems are configured to calculate add-on hours where applicable. For example, if an employee works 40 hours and they worked 24 as a lead shift, the timekeeping system would import 40 regular hours and 24 lead shift hours. Within Lawson the 40 hours would be considered productive worked hours but the 24 would not be considered worked hours.

Lisa, we also use Kronos and utilize the PR24 for almost all of our differential pays. With little exception we have set-up work rules in Kronos which our employees clock into to handle the differentials. On the few exceptions a work rule couldn't handle the transaction we do have timekeepers enter the appropriate pay code (which is handled in the PR24.1 by job code)

Adding a new work rule in Kronos makes sense. My problem is, I have a limited number of 'special' clock codes. We use the telephones to clock in/out.
I believe I have asked about adding more clock codes and was told can't be done. However, I will ask again.
Thanks!
