Got the notice from BSI that support for Java 7 and Apache Tomcat 7.0 have been discontinued. I don't remember what version we are on and don't know how to find out.
Anyone know?
From Portal, Bookmarks > Portal Administration > Administration Home Page > System Environment. Scroll down to or search for java.fullversion
There is a version.sh or version.bat file in the tomcat/bin directory that will give you the tomcat version. That should also give you the java version that Tomcat is using.
I see that, but I can't make heads or tails out of what is there. This is what I have. Is there a version number in there?
Your JRE (Java Runtime Environment) is 1.7 - which is Java 7.
Well crap. Thanks for the information.
Just so I know, where do I find that tomcat/bin folder? I cannot find it.
You likely have a CATALINA_HOME environment variable where tomcat should be located. You could also check the properties of the Tomcat service on Windows for the directory. It's possible it's on another server as well. We have LSF running on Unix and BSI on Windows.
The more important notice from BSI was the one dated July 15, 2019 that stated:
TaxFactory Release 11.0 was provided to your vendor for testing/certification on July 11, 2019. As your trusted payroll tax solutions vendor, BSI is excited to announce the release of TaxFactory 11.0. This latest release will greatly enhance the solution you already know and love.

Note: TaxFactory 10.0 will no longer be supported after January 11, 2021.
If you have questions, please contact BSI at support@bsi.com or 877-274-7873, option 1.
Hopefully Infor certifies TF11.0 sometime before November or year end 2020 will be an even wilder ride that YE2019 was
Hi Mike, I just opened a ticket with Support on this this morning. Here is their reply:
No Infor customers are on TaxFactory 11, as it has not been certified by Infor Development. All Infor HRM Payroll customers are on TaxFactory 10 and last mandatory is currently W. We do not have an ETA when will it get certified but once we do, we will send out announcement for this
LOL. True that!
Okay - this was a big waste of time and energy. You were telling me to check the LAWSON version. The notice was from BSI and I needed to verify the version that the BSI client was using and that is a different server, and I am CURRENT! So no need to do anything at all. Thank goodness!!
