RQC Training
unknown
I'm very interested in hearing how others are handling training for RQC. We currently offer training once a month but have the training material available on line. Training is currently not mandatory.

We had formal training classes in the past. When a new requester was added to Lawson we would send them a link and they could sign up online on our Net Learning system. It became frustrating to manage because 12-15 people would sign up but only 3 or 4 would actually show. So now when a new requester is added I notify the buyer for the department and they handle the training. We have a user guide available on our Intranet and training videos on Youtube (soon to be moved to the Intranet).

At our organization we require each requester to watch a video online that we made for RQC. They then are supposed to check back in with us after viewing the video for additional follow-up training if needed, but 90% of the time they don't. The video has been pretty effective. We also suggest that they work with others in the department or those they are replacing for tribal knowledge on supplies, templates, and vendors. We currently don't hold regular training classes, but it may be something we do in the future.

Our users get added via a security ticket in IT. We attach the workbook to the ticket so it sends to the users when they are added. The buyers do one-on-one sessions with users as needed from there.

If a buyer identifies a requester as high maintenance or troublesome then we schedule 20 mins with that requester for one on one training.

Thanks. Some good info and ideas. Does anyone limit the number of users per department?

We used Lawson Learning Accelerator to create a tutorial and uploaded it to our LMS (HLC). The training is a requirement for all requesters before gaining access. Request typically come from the Helpdesk and through the IT ticketing system. We plan on offering training once a month on a signup basis as Buyers are receiving more calls on how to use RQC.

We try to limit the number of requesters to 2 max per department (primary and a backup) depending on the department. IT, Biomedical, Labs we don't limit.

Same with us. Two people is optimal, and three is rare.

Thanks. I believe lab has the most requesters for us too.

We don't limit requesters. Approvers must be on the hierarchy or approved by the CFO - but they can have as many requesters as they want. We require them to provide their own backups in the event of vaction, illness or MLA.
