BSI - who supports?

Curious in hearing who supports the BSI application in other organizations. Who is responsible for the following (Payroll, HR or IT):

1.Installing tax bulletins & cyclicals

2.Mapping Tax Codes, Unemployment rates

3.Payment Overrides (403b, 401k maximums,etc)

2.Mapping Tax Codes, Unemployment rates (Payroll)

3.Payment Overrides (403b, 401k maximums,etc) (Payroll)

This is a payroll responsibility. We are also on the BSI SaaS platform, so bulletins and cyclicals are automatically pushed, we don't have to do anything to keep current on those.

IT does it in our organization for all of it.

Your IT has the needed tax knowledge to mess with overrides?

For our company -

Bulletins - payroll

Cyclicals - IT

Mapping Tax Codes, Unemployment rates - payroll

Payment Overrides - payroll

Payroll is not part of HR.

IT does the install of bulletins and cyclics but Payroll completes the testing
Mapping Tax Codes and Unemployment Rates is done by Payroll
Payment overrides is done by Payroll - Does anyone know why Lawson isn't using BSI APIs so that this can be done automatically (employee birth dates) and we don't have to re-establish this every year and review quarterly?

Does this include the Vlocator Address files? Interested if this has ever effected your payroll in a negative manner. In the past we had address files that ended local deductions in Pennsylvania and Colorado

We have had issues in the past with the VLocater files as well (we are in Pennsylvania). Before we went to Lawson V10 with BSI Saas, we would ask that the Vlocator files not be loaded. Now that we are BSI Saas, they get automatically loaded. We did have a recent issue where new employees were getting the incorrect work address assigned. We opened a ticket with Infor who worked with BSI to get it corrected in the June updates.

Our set up is the same as cbushnaq, except that payroll is part of HR. IT only does cyclicals, and will lead the V11 project.

We are on v10 Cloud and the BSI SaaS platform, so bulletins and cyclics are applied by BSI. Absolutely LOVE that!!!

IT is in charge of the contract and the expense.

Payroll (part of accounting) is in charge of testing, mapping tax codes, unemployment rates, and payment overrides. I do work closely with Benefits on the overrides. Benefits maintains the override groups in Lawson; Payroll sets up/maintains the actual overrides.
