Question for API time and Attendance Users

We are looking into options for Time and attendance and are really considering API. We have been told that we would require 22 Servers! For those who are currently using API, how many servers do you have? (We are looking into having Time and Attendance, scheduling, and the FMLA piece through Presagia). It just sounds like too many servers to me.

We only have Time and Attendance and our Live instance has 12 servers.

1 - SQL DB server

1- All Devices/Primary Agent

4- Agent servers

1- CalcMeNow server

1- Telphony server

4- Web servers (2 with Quick Badge and 2 without)

Test has 3, and Misc has 4.

We are hopefully getting the Scheduling piece soon, so I'm sure that will require more.

Can I say also, we REALLY love API. The upgrades/cumulative updates usually go pretty smoothly. The application support people love API as well.

We are using API at St Luke's Health System in Boise Idaho - we have 10 application servers, 10 web servers and 1 database server - so yes, 21 active servers. We use Time and Attendance and Scheduling and have sized for 15K - 20K users per API recommendations. We have 1 additional secondary Application servers (9) over their recommendation of 8 for our size and 2 additional DMZ web server over their recommended 2.

We also love API and have had it since NT years, currently on version 2018.3 and planning to upgrade to 2020.1 next month. We do our own upgrades using the provided release guide documentation provided and never had any issue. We are currently exploring the mobile app and openshift notification.

4 - Web servers (3 internally load-balanced and 1 external without QB) The external is not directly faced to the public internet but presented using VMware Horizon client and the scheduling grid presented using RDSH.

The number of servers is determined by the user count for resource utilization. We have 10 production servers and have approximately 4500 users.

We have had API since 2002 and are currently upgrading to 2020.1. We have 10 servers (all are virtual)

1 SQL DB Server

3 App servers

1 Telephony server

3 web servers (1 for remote access in our DMZ where they can't clock in but can do everything else)

2 Test servers

We use Time & Attendance, Staff Scheduling (since 2005), Mobile Workforce Mgmt, Open Shift Notification - we also use the FMLA piece in API

We have about 3000 users
