We are move from Java 7 to Java 8 on our LSF Windows server to accommodate the requirement for the upcoming BSI 10.0.y cyclical. Does anyone know if we can move to Java 8 on the OS and leave Websphere at 7?
You can have both Java 7 and Java 8 installed on the same box. So, you can use Java 8 for the BSI client and Java 7 for the LSF, for instance. Per Infor documentation, Java must be the same for LSF and WebSphere, so you should NOT use Java 8 for LSF and java 7 for WebSphere. Note also that if you use Landmark with LSF (e.g. for IPA), Java version on Landmark MUST match Java version for LSF. And that might prompt the Landmark version upgrade, if you're still at LM 10.1.1 (which may be a much bigger deal).

Quick side comment: We recently (March 2020) moved to Java 8 ... and we had to get a Java 8 license from Oracle. The one good thing about Oracle licenses is that they usually just license the Production instance, and allow you to install a test version without additional licencing. Because Java 8 runs without any license checking, someone from Oracle did follow up and call me afterwards. ( But please don't take my word about this, look it up for yourself.)
A side comment to a side comment You can use JDK8 without purchasing a license, but only until patch u202. if you upgrade Oracle java past that version, you're indeed required to purchase a license for it, and it's not really cheap. Infor is slowly moving to the other Java distributions, such as Amazon Corretto (which is free), but the only products currently compatible with it are Infor OS and LBI.
