How to do others submit Contract requests to build Contracts?

We are on Lawson 10, and use Contract Manager (via Rich Client). We use Requisitions for the Contract Request to go through review and approval.. We then manually build the Contract, thus creating the PO25 record.

We are curious how other companies who are using Contract Manager (v11.1.7) submit requests for a new contract. We find it hard to believe that there is not an official Contract Manager request process, but our Infor Consultant said he has seen companies do it our way, or just by paper requests.

Anyway, we are just looking around for other ways organizations using CM are using the module for Contract requests.

Only our Sourcing Managers can enter contracts in Landmark. If an end-user wants a new contract, they contact the appropriate Sourcing Manager and put in the request. We have a contract approval process flow that we can route to department mangers/VPs if necessary for additional approval.

Thanks! So- in the end-user request, how is this put in? Is it external to Infor?

If it is an I or N type item, it comes from our Item Master. For X or S type items, it comes from the MMDIST. The IPA pulls the information into the req approval email. We have also configured the Inbaskets to show it as well for people who approve directly in Lawson.

Sorry, I mean the contract request. How does the end-user request the contract to the Sourcing Managers? Right now, we do that through a requisition. I am seeing other ways that it is done.

Our email doesn't include the Accounting information but that might be helpful. Right now we just have the requesting location. I really appreciate the time you are taking on answering our questions! Thanks.
