H5 Script - UPS address validation

Hi all,

I want to call the UPS api for address validation through H5 scripting, I just wanted to understand how can I call an external api and send the data to in JSON format using the H5 Script, or is there any example/sample script available for this. Thanks

For UPS API you should check there resources. They have samples online in a number of languages. But as it turns out there is a an accessKey that you will need to pass to access, oo the API is not public. If it was public then you could just call their API using their documentation with jQuery.

With the use of accessKey you don't want to have that exposed on the client. This means that you will have to add and call it through ION API or you will be exposing your access key.

This is probably why they don't have JavaScript samples on their site. You should have a server making that call, with ION API you can add that authentication key in the proxy.

ION API access from H5 Script would only be supported in M3 Cloud. For M3 Onprem you would have to build your own server component, like a REST service to call UPS so that you don't expose your access key.
