Process Flow suggestions for AP, Finance and HR
unknown
We are looking for some opinions on what business processes other customers have had success augmenting with Process Flow in their AP, Finance, HR, Benefits or Payroll departments. We already have Smart Notification running which contains some overlap in functionality and are grappling with identifying low hanging fruit for leveraging our investment in Process Flow. Thank you for any suggestions.

Hi jjotoole - We use Infor Process Automation (Landmark Pflow) extensively for HR, Payroll, and Benefits. Note that our Landmark Talent Management system is primary, but we use LSF/S3 for our payroll, benefits and absence management processing.
You mentioned that you use Smart Notes, and we do as well. While pflow can do some of the things Smart Notes can do, they really aren't comparable products. Smart Notes are great for notifications and reporting, but Pflow is really intended for complex logic, approvals, etc.
We use IPA to manage the approval process for new hires, rehires, terms, transfers, etc. This is standard functionality in TM, but we have highly customized the flows for these actions.
We also use IPA for auditing and updating our S3 and TM systems. We have flows that reset multiple fields on rehire, change the lockout date for time entry, send notifications about benefit enrollments, interface phone and wage values from S3 to LTM, validate security roles for Managers and HR folks, update our TM email addresses from ActiveDirectory, and a multitude of other processes.
In the past, we have used IPA for creating vendor interface files and such, but we're moving away from that since IPA doesn't do batch processing as well as it does transaction processing. It can certainly do it, but the performance can be an issue. We've moving most of those tasks to Microsoft SSIS.
If you are doing only reporting, then SN is fine. If you are wanting to do anything with approvals, notifications, or branching then Pflow is the way to go.
Good Luck!
Kelly
