Is it possible to include a term date on a report for employees in a pending term status?
Hey BHughes-Brown,
It depends on the context of the question. We put employees in a Pending Term Status with their Last Day Paid and Termination Date.
It is ok to put the termination date on the record for an employee in a Pending Term Status. However, things become tricky if:
1. There are open payments for the employee after the termination date (i.e. GTL payments).
2. There are open 1 time deduction records on PR39 for the employee.
These 2 scenarios come into play if you are backing dating the termination to happen several months prior. Otherwise there should be no issue putting a termination date on HR11 and pulling it into any report.
Hope that helps.
So to understand. Based on what you say having a pending term status with the term date included is ok. We use MSS and the future term date is input. The only place I can see that future dated term date is if I drill on the employee status. Not sure how to get the date to move to HR11 so that I can report or how to pull that future date that is visible on the status drill around.
How many different Term Codes do you have? I would think that most companies have at least two, one that allows for Payments and Benefits to continue and another that does not allow payments and benefits for the employee. The MSS action should place the first Term code on the Status field as well as the Term Date and a follow-up action should update the Status to the second Term Code that shuts off payroll and benefits.
We have 4 term codes a TP - term pay pending, and TS - term with severance. Both allow payments. Then we have TN - termed involuntary, and T - term voluntary that do not allow payments. So based on what I'm hearing from the group, thank you all, we should be able to include the term date in the TP or term eligible for payment status. Thanks so much all!
