We are running into an issue with the PR292 Magnetic File return that is submitted to New York State on a quarterly basis. The base file itself is not an issue (we insert the carriage line return), but we need to add the payroll information for the Executives as they are on a different payroll platform. We never had an issue with this in the past, but New York State is moving to a new system and our test files keep rejecting on their end.
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to manipulate the magnetic file that is produced from Lawson to add additional lines of detail?
In addition we experience an issue with viewing the file in Notepad and Notepad++. In Notepad there are 2 employees per line when Word Wrap is employed. New York State is advising us to have only 1 employee per line on the view to better track down the exact line in question.
In Notepad++, when Word Wrap is employed the detail displays on 1 continuous line of detail. Payroll cannot determine exactly which line is causing the issue with this type of view.
