New York Paid Sick Leave Law - Accrual After 30 Hours Worked

Does anybody know if it is possible in Lawson to have an accrual calculate only after an employee has worked x amount of hours? New York State enacted a new Paid Sick Leave Law that allows employees (i.e. Per Diems) to accrue 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked. However, if the employee does not work 30 hours in the pay period then no accrual would calculate. I thought a ratio formula might be able to perform this type of calculation, but the documentation does not seem to suggest it would support this type of calculation.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It sounds similar to the California Paid Sick Time Law 1 hour of sick for ever 30 hours worked. We do have that set up and working. I can send you the set up if you'd like.

Thanks for the e-mail Linda. It looks like you use the ratio calculation to calculate the accrual, which makes sense. How do you get Lawson to prevent calculating an accrual if the employee works under 30 hours for the week or pay period? For example if an employee only works 10 hours for the pay period (2 weeks) they would not be entitled to a sick accrual. Does the plan you have built do that?
