How do Business Context messages get broadcast by Landmark?

When you are moving around in Landmark the application is broadcasting Business Context Messages.

Does anyone know how a particular list or form in Landmark broadcasts that data?

What is the code/feature/mechanism that makes that work?

Is it configurable?

We have some screens in Contract Management (Landmark) that are broadcasting pretty useless Business Context data, so we are hoping to find a way to change (or add to) what is being broadcast.

Maybe there's a way to add/change the business context data via Config Console (LPL)?

Grasping at straws a bit.

Do you have an example Contract Management action that triggers a message you would like to suppress?

There are "completion messages" defined at the action level in LPL. These pop up in the upper right hand corner after the action is executed. Are those the messages you are referring to?

Andy - hijacking the post a bit. Is there an ability to control those completion messages? either move them to somewhere that doesn't block the menu items you are likely interested in clicking next and or changing the amount of time they display?

Not that I'm aware of. The completion message definition falls inside the action definition, but outside of the Entrance, Action, and Exit rules, so a configured action can't remove it.

You could copy an action into a User Action and remove the completion message, but that's not really a tenable solution, especially since you'd have to check / maintain that User Action every time there is a system update.

If you find a system config parameter to disable them, I'd definitely be interested. Our users tend to complain about those messages. There are some UI admin console config parameters but none for messages that I've found.

The messages might be put there by design to prevent users from taking additional action before acknowledging previous action completion.

No, this is not the completion messages. These are the "Business Context" messages. They are used by the right-hand sidebar widgets. You can see them using the "Context Viewer" widget in Mingle or Infor OS.

I don't know Landmark that well to be able to tell if this is configurable or not. I would guess that it is not. But this would be useful information for the Business owner to know. Perhaps they can change the default data that is beeing transmitted. Please take the time to let them know throuhg support.

Landmark sends an iBCM and bookmark message for each screen/page visited. It is not yet configurable but it's a roadmap item.

Could you share what context app(s) you have listening for messages and what data would be more useful to you?

Was this roadmap item to allow Business Context Messages to be edited ever completed?

If not for delivered business classes, is there any way to adjust the business context message on User Business Classes? It appears the Business Context Message is defined in the Business Class UI definition, which doesn't appear to be editable, and the default Business Context Message for a User Business Class appears to only have a concatenation of the current business class and role as id1 of the entities, e.g. nothing specific to the context record selected.

It is not completed yet no. It's still an ER that is toward the top of the pile of ERs that we want to get to.

However, we do send a standard generic iBCM. I'll look into why the id1-4 doesn't show the keys to the field for User Business Class (UBCs). This could simply be a UBC bug that is quicker than configurable Context Message Invocations.

I'd still love to know what isn't right about the generic message and why that makes which context app useless. What would you add to it and what will the context apps do with that?

Thanks for the follow up! Glad to hear it's still in the works.

We've just started exploring the Infor Artificial Intelligence Platform, and in exploring the ways that trained model endpoints can be leveraged I've found we can create Context Apps (using Widgets) that leverage API calls to the predictive endpoints to show in context predictions when viewing records in FSM.

I added a Context App that makes a web call to a predictive model endpoint, but I can't pass the needed feature values in order for the model to make a prediction, because they aren't passed in the iBCM.

Since this exploratory effort was done with the "Hello World" of classification models data sets (Iris classification), I created a User Business class to test the iBCM, and at that point found I couldn't customize the iBCM for the User Business class.

I'm also thinking it might limit future options with delivered business classes if the predefined context message doesn't include the needed feature data and can't be updated.

I'm very new to this area of Infor, so I might be overlooking something really simple The other issue might be a limitation of the Coleman AI Prediction Widget. It doesn't appear to allow for FSM API calls, even though that FSM API is available in other areas of the app, e.g. building Coleman Digital Assistant skills.

My initial thinking of a work around was if the standard iBCM for User Business classes provided the key field, I could make a web call in the Widget to pull the needed feature data, but that doesn't appear possible based on the API limitation of the Widget.
