Alternatives to Google Cloud Printing

Hello,

I am a cloud customer version 10.0.0.495 of CSI. In the latest monthly update, Google Cloud Print stopped functioning and Support has said they are working on a solution but it will not be "today or tomorrow". Do you have any alternatives for printing with CSI? Please let me know.

Infor OS now support printing using Enterprise connector as a replacement / alternative to Google Cloud Print.

In IDM Output configuration, the print option now supports Enterprise Print which uses ION Enterprise Connector to connect to your printers.

If this option is missing, open a support incident to get it enabled.

I think the issue the author and other CSI clients have is although that was released for Infor ION, the last mile plumbing to integrate that with the CSI/SyteLine Background Task system for report printing has not been completed. So until the Mongoose development team completes that work, they need an alternative to print to PDF then print to printer manually.

To the author, the best current solution is to utilize an email enabled printer, such as an HP printer with ePrint support, and then you can enable the report email option to email the printer the document. There are potentially third party print servers that provide similar functionality to non-email enabled printers.

Is the HP ePrint still a viable solution? And does it work well for preprinted form stock, like AP Checks? I am about to go live on CSI 10, and did not realize that in order to use the IDM Enterprise Print solution would require another $1000 piece of software (SQL Server). If the ePrint solution works, I would much prefer this as our time with AP Checks will not be long (transitioning to ACH payments) at which point the SQL Server license would be a wasted investment.

Also, with doing ePrint (if its a viable solution for AP Checks) I assume I send the report out as a PDF to the printer's email address?
