Preparation for Brexit

Hi all, I really hope you do not mind me reaching out to you and asking if/what preparations you are doing with your customer base for Brexit with the release due next week?

Are you planning any communications either via bulk email or company web to advise of the documents received from Pegasus on PVA or running any webinars/workshops? We are thinking of trying to reach out to our base to ensure they using their EC VAT module correctly and/or find if there are customers maybe in need of it but other than that not sure what else we can do so was hoping to get some inspiration.

I've had a couple of customers ask me directly about document designs and EORI numbers in particular. I have emailed Pegasus about this but the answers so far have been vague. The response back today was to hold fire until the November release to see what is included.

Not sure when this is coming out, but until I know what new fields there are I'm going to hang fire.

Thanks Felicity, it is difficult to know how to approach it so was just wanting to get a feel for what other resellers are doing :-) Think we are all in the dark, bit like MTD all over again :-)

Have you guys heard anything about the new release as yet? I have just spoken with Pegasus and been advised that they are currently working on Version 2.80 which is still in testing but no further info as yet.

Do you think this is the payroll year end version? I was assuming there would have been a 2.75 for Brexit & PVA.

Hi All,

Below is something which may need consideration and what maybe required.

Could be worth passing this back to your clients, just in case they hadn’t given this any consideration.

Either we find alternative fields (not used) or bespoke to cater for items, which I think Pegasus have missed!!

Invoices will need:

Company Name/Address & EORI number

Customer/Consignee Name/Address & EORI number

Customer Purchase Order Number

Country of origin of all Items

Commodity codes

Product description

Value of goods

Currency

Delivery Terms - incoterms

Net/Gross weight

Number and type of packages

You can get most of that already except, Customer EORI Number, Gross Weight and Number and Type of Packages.

Gross Weight is one we think should be automatic otherwise you would have to be adding up the documents all the time and on pages of this it would take forever.

Workaround for Number and Type of Packages for time being would be Free type or a Non Descriptive Line

That's our thoughts at the moment anyway working with a couple of clients, until something changes again anyway

Cheers Steve for feedback. Nice workaround. It would be nice if the system had the totals automatically saved. Similar to the financial totals. Then this field could be used on stationery. Iris Exchequer had these fields.

we are probably going to use the customer FAX number field for the customer EORI number.

There will be a release in due course that will include the EORI Number onto the Customer Record and there will also need to be an EORI Number on the EC VAT Country Record, if a UK business has a presence in the EU they will need an EORI number in that EU Country too. It will all be down to timing when we get the changes and if HMRC confirm or change the rules beforehand i guess but good call to use the Fax Number for the time being.

the release is out.

But unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way of calculating the total weight on the lines.

5 units x 2kg = 10kg

3 units x 1kg = 3kg

Footer

Total weight = 13kg

So not only do you need to manually write the total. but you need a calculator to work out the total !

I've just added a Variable to the design and added this field to the line and then repeated this in the footer set to sum and on preliminary checks it appears to be working and giving a line weight and total weight
