Portal 10.x in IE 9 Compatibility View
unknown
We are currently testing v10 upgrade and are having an issue with portal not being able to be displayed when IE 9 is set 'Display Intranet Sites in Compatibility View'.
We are accessing through ming.le.
We are hosted.
We have worked with support and they say portal is not compatible with IE9 in Compatibility View.
We have over 100 other applications, some of which require compatibility view.
Haven't been able to configure based on exception through Global Policy (Run all intranet sites as compatibility view except: ***)
Any thoughts or suggestions?

We ran into the same problem and unfortunately the only solutions were to not display it in Compatability Mode or use a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox. I believe we had a problem with Requisition Center and Firefox, but I can't say for sure so I would have to go back and test it again. We did use Global Group Policy to turn it off, but this presents a problem when somebody goes in and changes it because they need it for another application. Good luck.

Just my two cents - I'd recommend opening an enhancement request (
www.inforcommunities.com/)
and up-voting it with this thread. There is an older thread on the forum with a similar concern.

I have entered an enhancement request, 32256, for the issue.
Anyone interested can vote and/or comment on it.
Thanks Anna!
Thanks for the info James. I'll look for issues with peripherals in the other browsers.

We have the same issue, and have not yet found a workaround for this. Understandably, users are not keen on having to manage their own compatibility settings to be able to use Infor 10x with other legacy applications.
This is a much needed enhancement and I'll be sure to turn in my vote for this enhancement request. Can I only vote once?

As we get ready for version 10 I know this will be an issue for us too. I to will vote for this 32256 enhancement. Hopefully INFOR will see it a problem and resolve soon

In the SWUG meeting in Dallas next week, I'll be presenting a 9x to 10 upgrade session.
I'll include this concern in my presentation. I expect this will be an issue for many Infor customers.

Marilyn,
Can you post your presentation in a community after the meeting?

When we setup V10, they created an alias for the Ming.le URL to run with a different domain name. We then are able to uncheck the boxes in the compatibility settings and add our intranet domain inside the list box so this is a non-issue for us.

This is an issue for us as well. I do not want to ask 6000 users to update their compatibility settings.

Have you looked at running IE 11 with "Enterprise Mode" for applications that require an older version of IE? Enterprise mode is IE 11's version of compatibility mode and you can create an xml file with the list of sites that need to be run in enterprise mode so it does it automatically for you.
The good thing about Enterprise mode is that it actually uses an IE 8 engine to display your sites so as long as your sites are compatible with IE 8 most everything should work fine.

Unfortunately, running IE 11 is not an option for us at this time. Our solution must include IE 9.

Does anyone know if INFOR had=s done anything to help with the Portal 10.x in IE 9 Compatibility View
unknown
Our Hospital requires us to deploy Lawson over Citrix. The current standard is IE8 with Compatibility View.
When we began testing Portal 10.x it was a huge problem. We developed a workaround where edited the WebSphere Web Server config file and uncommented this line:
LoadModule headers_module modules/mod_headers.so
We then inserted a meta tag like this: Header set X-UA-Compatible "IE=8".
And we added this section at the end:
Header set X-UA-Compatible: IE=8;IE=EmulateIE8
We then commented out the code from portal.js that checks the browser version. We've been live for 16 months with no issues at this point.

If you comment out "headers_module" it doesn't get loaded. If you then say
"" and the module is not loaded, you won't get those headers prepended. And you should set Edge, not 8, because Edge will force the latest available. What is working for you is that you've broken the browser check so you can continue. While the browser won't complain, Lawson won't function correctly.
If anyone still has trouble with this, there is a Mingle Property for this.

AD admin should be able to write GPO to add "individual sites" to "Compatibility Mode".
