Salary vs. Hourly Salary Class for exempt employees
I know there were quite a few posts on the old boards on the topic of using Hourly vs. Salary for the Salary Class for exempt employees. Unfortunately I guess all of this is now gone, so I am asking the group for some recommendations on how they handle exempt employees. If I remember correctly it seemed that most organizations set exempt employees as Hourly. What are the pros and cons of using the different Salary Class options for exempt employees? Thanks in advance!

According to the HR11 Field Help for the Salary Class field:
For hourly employees, the application multiplies the hourly rate of pay typed in the Rate of Pay field, by the number of hours entered on time records, to arrive at gross pay.
For salaried employees with a pay code assigned a type R (Normal Rate) calculation, the application divides the annual salary types in the Rate of Pay field by the number of pay periods in a year to arrive at gross pay for the pay period. The number of pay periods is determined by the entry in the Pay Frequency field.
