Using Benefit Groups To Control New Hire Benefit Enrollment in ESS
unknown
We are want to allow different enrollment rules (dates of enrolling) for certain groups acquired by our organization than the normal rules. I am currently trying to do this with employee groups on the plan. Is there anyone who is currently doing this who would share screen prints of how they are making this work with me? I keep running into a snag and I'm not sure why because the concept seems like it should be possible. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

I am just about to work on this for my organization. The big thing that I'm told is to ensure that the employee group is mutually exclusive; the employees in the new group cannot exist in another group.

Basically the EE group on BN15 represents all who are eligible for the plan. Then for Enrollment Rules on BN16, setup one rule for the majority, with no EE Group and a separate rule for any subset of EE's who need a unique Entry rule. These other rules would have an EE Group attached. Regardless of how many rules you have for a plan they should be mutually exclusive so that any EE would only fall under one rule. Any EE not in one of the EE Groups will fall under the rule without a EE Group attached. The mutually exclusive rule is critical and needs to be enforced throughout your entire BN plan setup. Hope this helps.

Ken it does and I believe I have it setup this way. Now I suppose need to revisit my groups and make sure they are correct. Thanks for confirming my assumptions are correct.
