Log on prompt URL differences between browsers

Hello,

We use direct links to employee self service functions from our intranet home page. When clicking on the links using IE, multiple displays of the log on page are produced. Chrome and Firefox only require one log on.

Using Fiddler, the following URLs are the ones that are sent directly before the log on page is displayed....

When using IE:
/ssoconfig/SSOCfgInfoServlet?_action=LOCALELIST&outFrmt=JSON

When using Chrome or Firefox:
/ssoconfig/SSOCfgInfoServlet

Does anyone know why there is this difference?

(LSF = 9.0.1.13 EMSS = 10.0.4 IE = 9)
