ESS Move Life Event, Unable to Maintain Field Error

We have been unable to resolve the security issue related to users updating their home address via the Move Life Event feature of ESS. Employees outside of the HR group (HR group has HR09 record set up, others do not) receive a "Unable to Maintain this Field" error when attempting to enter their new address. I understand this is related to the missing HR09 record, but we do not want to set up an HR09 record for each employee. I have posted this in the past and received a response that we can tie all users to a ESS User record, and set up one HR09 for "ESS User." However, my IT team has not been able to resolve. Perhaps an issue of knowing where the "ESS User" is defined?? How do other organizations handle this? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

If you look in the Resources and Security Administration Guide for this -
S3 Lawson System Foundation Default Environment / OS Identity: Overview - it will detail how to set up a single user that all employees outside of HR can use on their identities screen in Lawson Security Administrator - if an employee does not have a value in LSA on the identities screen for the production environment, then it will use the value created above. This way one identity can be used for several thousand employees. Hope that makes sense

Well, I was going to say that we only have one ESS user set up in HR09, but it looks like you already knew about that. I would file a case with Infor and see if they can help your IS staff resolve the problem that's keeping it from working for you.

If the employee is also an application user of any kind, GL, AP, MM etc, we have found that we need to set them up with their own HR09 record. Employees with no application access at all are covered by the generic ess user id.
