ERROR_GENERATING_CSV
Legacy Contributor
Anybody experiencing issues with generating csv's on specific output datasets?
WE are on ESP 9.0.1.12, Unix 6.1, Oracle apps 9.0.1.8.
When we run GL293 just for Actuals we can click on Create CSV, and a CSV is created.
When we run GL293 just to include Budget we can click on Create CSV, and we get the ERROR_GENERATING_CSV message.
Anyone any ideas?

Have you checked your ENV profile configuraiton? You have to make sure the rptgen has full access. We had to do this for our batch jobs. You can also refer to KB 1204673.

As I mentioned, when I run GL293 with the same JOb name, just changing the parameters, without the Budget I can create the CSV, however with the Budget = '1', I cannot; that's why I thought it couldn't possible be a Security access issue. The Job can access executable rptgen.

Thanks for the idea though Cheryl.

Just some further information - we just applied JT-617173 to resolve a Bookmark Pipe issue, which could have created this issue.
Looks like we are going to have to accept the situation, and go to the most up-to-date patches for ESP 9.0.1.12.
That's what GSC have told us.

No .dtl file is being created for budget output dataset.
GSC cannot emulate the issue.

Hi Peter,
I am seeing a similiar issue on PO536 and the recommendation from support was to install JT-617173. This updates lawbsh, lawcmp and bldsh in GENDIR/bin.
Here is the information: "JT-621184 Cannot export report to CSV" (same issue as yours) which is already fixed by JT-617173."
We have not yet put this patch into test, but I wanted to pass it along as your issue sounds similiar (some reports export to CSV without issue, others do not).
HTH!

It appears that the issue revilves around a .dtl file. If there is a .dtl file with the output dataset, then there is no problem creating a CSV (in my case when I ran GL293 just with Actual data, no problem, but when I ran it with Budget = 1, that was when I experienced the issue).
We have just installed the patch dates 09/02/2014 (which is a large ESP patch), the issue is resolved.
According to the Knowledebase, JT-617173 was supposed to resolve this issue, in our case, it actually invoked the issue!
Now everything is fine on this issue, but I wonder what other skeletons are in this patch cupboard!!

Thanks Peter! I'm glad that this resolved the issue on your system - I'm sure it will resolve our issue as well, as I don't see a dtl file for my report either.
