IPA Installs on how many servers?
clara-tan
Hi
(....it depends, or how much do you have ... Right?)
we are new to IPA (currently moving from Process Flow). We have a consultant who'll be doing the work. we've consolidated things for testing. but in planning for production...
Is there a separate IPA sever suggested?
Process Flow runs on our AIX box "psferv ping all" with our LSF environment. And the windows PC tool to create and upload flows...
but with IPA, we'll have a new required landmark component (the first of our new Infor10 Aix box/boxes), and still there's PC windows tool called Process Designer per what I read in the Process Designer Install Guide (LPDIG_9.2.4_W.pdf) of which is 9 pages touches on Landmark and PC's Process Designer.
So is there an add'l type of server suggested (Windows or AiX/unix) that IPA runs on? if so where would the hardware requirements be written down? and is that product called IPA? (like ye ol "pfserv")
we have only 20 flows but some are resource hefty and take 90 minutes to process about the start of the work day.
Thank you for reading.

IPA installs with and runs on the Landmark server. There is still a Process Designer that runs on the desktop and the release of the Designer needs to match the release of Landmark. For Administration, you use the Landmark Rich Client.

There is also new Security. This snuck up on us. You'll need to Federate Landmark and LSF. Since IPA is our only Landmark product (for now), we have LSF as primary. ISA is the security front end (web page) that allows you to maintain the atrributes (groups, roles, addins, etc) for both LSF and Landmark in one place and keep them in sync.
IPD (Infor Process Designer) must match the version of Landmark you are on. So, you can have one version for Prod and one for Test, since each patch to Landmark will require a new IPD. The new tool is so much better than PFI Designer.
We went with Unix to match our LSF Env. Due to time crunch (IPA required for our SCE project), we used a consultant fo the install and they sent us server sizing recommendation. I'll look to see if I have it handy.
