Lawson - Technology Customer Community [READ ONLY]
LDAP Bind expired passwords issue

We have many employees who don't have PCs available to connect directly to our network. We have kiosks available for them, but they cannot login to Lawson when their password is expired. The LDAP Bind doesn't account for the extra calls to handle expired AD passwords. Is there an app or script that would allow them to authenticate to the network and allow them to reset their password before connecting to Lawson? How have others addressed this issue? We have about 1,500 employees that fall into this category. They have initial AD accounts created for them with unique default passwords that are expired. One solution was to communicate this to the managers and have them assist them but we're looking for a better alternative.

We are new and won't go live until end of April and this is the same question I raised with our consultants on the 'design' and they said to create an IPA that emails them to tell them to click a link to sign in and change their password.
We didn't even entertain this as the point is most of these types of people are not readily available to access our network and not all of our employees have work emails... so... sorry I can't help you but we have the same question with no feedback other than our IT Service desk will be busy handling these calls. I havent' thought about it for a while since I read your post... but yeah, on a kiosk, there won't be anywhere other than signing into Infor... hmm.. now I'm thinking again

DAVANN, I found my original post back in April asking this same thing... I found it.. it is titled "Userid/Passwords with Employee Space or Self Service"
and there was a lot of other feedback that was interesting as well...

We reviewed a few packages that allow you to reset passwords, but we're going to try the free route. We're going to try OWA. We're going to add a link with instructions and see how it goes. We originally thought it was going to be 1,500 employees but it's really about 200 that fall into this category. They don't have to have email accounts for OWA to reset there password. The other issue is notfiing them when their password is about to expire. Still working on that.
