Wondering if anyone has just updated with this patch only LSFCT_AIX71_10000900P46307.zip.
Windows 2012 and we are still on LS STS (10.0.9). I installed the core patch but still need to update DSP to get to the minimum requirements.
trying to avoid loading that full patch. we are also on LS STS (10.0.9) AIX. there is alot of changes and our business units does have time to test everything
We are on 10.0.10. Trying to avoid installing the entire CU1 if possible.
I am wondering why Infor would force an Environment patch for year end? Seems like our users have enough to do with just the CTP's that need to get installed. Anyone know of a good reason for this?
Based on the notes. they are using a new format to install CTP. I have asked to try and get just that LSF patch. Good news is we are doing several test payroll testing and it would included the requirements for BS11
Another update. Infor did not just include the normal two AP programs in their AP YE patch. The patch updated multiple files. We are now looking at a full on regression testing for both Env and Apps at one of the busiest times of the year for them.
Total Source Files Changed: 17
Programs Affected: 434
Programs Compiled: 211
Programs Functionality Changed: 211
Programs that Call Changed Programs: 397
Called Programs with Changes: 11
What are you installing instead? I looked and 46963 is huge!
Hi, just wanted to chime in with a couple of notes from our experience.
1)We did the BSI + LDAPS upgrade a month or two ago, and the environment patches that needed to be installed for that seem to have got us patched up high enough so that our Lawson system admin said we did not need to install the environment patch that people are talking about in this thread.
2)We only use Lawson payroll, but we downloaded and previewed all 3 year end patches anyway, and I am glad we did,, because both the AP and the BN patch have payroll programs hiding in them that changed our versions and needed to be tested.
I would also love to know the answer to this. We just now found out this was a requirement and this will completely destroy our holiday break - I can't believe that they have done this.
Same here and during a covid surge - we are healthcare
Thanks everyone. My case with Infor stated due to dependencies we had to load the bundle. so we will be installing the LSF and DSP patch today and then running the Year-end patching to see the additional impact to the app. quick question, any issues when you installed the BSI + LDAPS patching. this would have been the lsf bundle at the time.
It's another way to move every one to the latest version.
The assumption is that everyone can install and test an Environment update within a short (<2 weeks). That's possible if you have a small shop, no or few customizations, small process streams, don't use all the facilities that Infor/Lawson provides, and that the client operational staff has lots of "free" time to (monthly/quarterly) test the latest update.
We are on IBM iSeries platform with LSF version 10.0.8.
Any luck with the installation of new AP year end patch on IBM iSeries platform.
HI Clay,
1) We had to request a new certificate for the lawson app server
2) We had an issue with submitting portal jobs after the upgrade was done: "execjob(LaStartProcess): Unable to log on RUNUSERKEY Account StartStep failed: the system cannot find the File specified"
When I asked our admin what the cause of this issue turned out to be:" Looked like it had to do with our security tokens. I had only 2 of them checked on and all of them needed to be on. Then we needed wait for cache to refresh."
Where is this wondrous shop? I want to work there!
Infor is discussing an "alternative solution" to the CU/LSF patch on the AP call that will be released by the end of the week. No details as of yet.
Did they happen to say if they will send out a Notification stating this?
They recommended subscribing to the year end KB article and that there would be an update there (2162330)
We have moved forward with applying the LSF, Portal and DSP update. Our group did not want to wait another week to make a decision. I applied these updates in our test systems and will start testing. thank you for the help.
All
This year our Year End packaging was enhanced to provide customers improved functionality in working with these on premise regulatory deliverables. Those features include built in assurance of prior year CTP verification, elimination of the need to download individual CTP packages, as well as net change handling inclusion of any subsequent corrections within 2020 YE content. Automated support of these features was enabled by a Lawson System Foundation Core Technology (LSFCT) patch or Critical Update (CU) containing the latest AMT Toolset, which had been released last Dec. Installation of the LSFCT patch/CU is required prior to the installation of these Year End packages.
Based on initial customer feedback, which Infor has received from our user community, we have made a determination to provide the Year End package available in the classic CTP format as a secondary packaging option for customers who are unable to apply the required LSFCT patch/CU at this time. Where feasible, Infor still encourages customers taking the 2020 Year End package(s) to take the LSFCT patch/CU which uses the latest AMT toolset, as this will likely be pulled into future statue deliverable installation requirements in 2021.
Infor’s intent is to post that 2nd set of duplicate content deliverables for customer availability by end of this week. In addition to the posting of the new smaller deliverable, we will be releasing a new announcement to customers in addition to discussing at the Year End Interactive Briefings. While this action might be viewed as a resolution, it is simply a stop gap measure and does not address the open gaps that will arise in the upcoming year by which most customers will still need to update to the latest patching, this solution will allow customers to get through the Year End process with less impact to your organization.
