Reactivate a Tax Deduction

We had stopped a tax deduction for an employee and now we want to start it again. We have tried updating the beginning date on the PR14. We also tried to add it to the PR13.7, but it says it already exists. The PR113 wants to stop the deduction even though it is stopped. Any thoughts on how we get this to work?

If you disable the deduction on PR13.7, it should end date your deduction. Then reenabling it should then create the new deduction with new effective date. It may throw an error that needs updating from PR13.8.

Unfortunately, the deduction is not listed on the PR13.7. But, it is acting like it is already there when we try to add it on the 2nd tab.

Can you manually end date the PR14 record and then add a new one?

We had an issue with our PR13.7 records where when we disabled the record, the deduction disappeared completely and there was no way of reenabling it. Then when trying to add the deduction to see if that would allow the re-enabling, it told us the deduction already existed. Thinking it may be the same issue. Look at KB2125250

also to add, we were able to see the deduction in the database and it showed as disabled. We were able to reenable using MS Addins

FYI, we experienced this same issue and applied the patch recommended in the KB. It fixed the issue for us.

We also ran into this head banging issue a few months ago. I believe we ended up changing the employee to a different location on the HR11; then did a PR13.7 delete on the location we had issues with; then moved the employee back to the correct/original location.
