Payroll Year End Close

Before opening my 2021 payrolls, I ran PR999 to close the previous payroll year. It appears that one of my entities had already been closed by another user and now shows 2021 as the previous year and 12/18/2022 as my end date. Do any of you know if that close can be undone and how to do that? Thanks!

Hi, we are on Lawson v10 payroll and that allows you to manually change your payroll year on the Payroll tab on HR00. We had that happen a couple of years ago. I'm not sure which version you are running, though. Happy 2021!

The PR999 Payroll Close cannot be undone. If you didn't have any processing done for 2021, there should be no issue. You may just need to manually change the Payroll Year on HR00 back to 2021. There is no harm in having pay period dates through 2022.

PR999 isn't as 'powerful' as most think. All it does is (from KB #1212273):

The program increments the Payroll Year field on the Payroll tab of the Company (HR00). This field affects the drill around on current earnings, earnings by quarter, deductions by quarter, etc..
Deletes withholding-type arrears deductions from One Time Deduction (PR39.1) only if they were created by the run of the Earnings and Deductions Calculation (PR140) or Arrears Automation (PR139).
Creates new pay period and work period dates (viewable on PR21.2) for the latest effective pay plans defined in Pay Plan (PR21.1).
