I'm looking to see if other companies have had any problems with upgrading to BSI v11 and what issues were found. We are starting an upgrade project and BSI v11 upgrade will be apart of the MSP/ESP project. Thanks in advance.
Assuming that you specifically mean problems with BSI and not the MSP/ESP integration.
Notes:
Backup early, backup often.
When installing BSI Tax Factory, keep both "Infor Integration: BSI TaxFactory 11.0 and 8.0 Canada for Human Resources" guide and Install Guide and the BSI "Upgrading from 10.x o 11.0x" and BSI " Client Installation Guides" all open. There are pieces you will need from all three.
If you use custom data sets (recommended), you will need to reapply user access when you are finished.
BSI Servers (Windows) can be different OS Versions than LSF components.
Infor announced due to End of life on Windows Server 2012R, they are going to support Windows Server 2019 and bypassing certifying Windows Server 2016.
Previously we attempted to keep the Java on LSF and BSI in sync (i.e. Oracle). It is worth considering moving to either Corretto (Infor) or AdoptOpenJDK (BSI).
Thanks @gawarecki-chris . We are also getting ready to complete the BSI 11 upgrade. Where did you see the Windows Server 2012 EOL announcement?

Mainstream End: 10/09/2018, Extended 10/10/2023.
Seams like a long ways off Right?! Do you have that time & effort & cost in the budget yet? Time flies!
Windows Server 2016 https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/windows-server-2016
Mainstream end: 1/11/2022, Extended 1/11/2027
Window Server 2019 https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/windows-server-2019
Mainstream End: 1/9/2024, Extended: 1/6/2029
Also, unless I heard wrong in the LSF to SU Transition Teams Presentation, it appears that Infor for a majority of their products will be bypassing certifying for Windows Server 2016 and jumping to certifying Windows Server 2019. Some of them are already listed in the latest Lawson Compatibility List (12/29/2020).
We are on server2012 R2. Looks like you can do an in-place upgrade from 2012R2 to 2019 https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/upgrade/upgrade-overview
We're planning to have lawson experts reinstall everything on a new windows server 2019 installation.
I know no manager is going to risk their career taking on this task, but is it possible? Have anybody done this?
You can try this out yourself and call the experts if it does not work right?
> Test in QA. backup the vm image. perform the OS upgrade. restore the backed up image if it does not work.
