Recurring jobs

We have a 2 week payperiod, I'm running recurring job that runs nightly that goes through the end of the payperiod but finding occasionally it updates the HR11 prior to the actual effective date. Example effective date is 2/19 and PA100 is run through 2/20 but recurring job started running on 2/8 so on that date, pa52 was processed causing status to change prematurely. Do you have recurring jobs that run nightly for changes that are just effective that day?

Hi Margo, Lawson provides ways to programmatically update the date in your recurring job each day. The ways I have used are to either create a 4GL program or a process flow that updates the date parameter of the recurring job. Both of these methods can be used to submit your recurring job after the date parm is updated, as well or they can just update the date parm and be done.

Is this all done in Process Automation instead of manually creating recurring jobs?

Yes. You start by creating the job in portal, if you don't already have one that you want to use. The flow can update the job's parameters, as well as submit the job and do any post-submission processing you want, for example emailing you the reports. If you don't already use another way to schedule and submit your flows, you can use the Rich Client scheduler to do that.

If you are talking specifically about the PA100, we just run it recurring using Current = Y and not entering an effective date.
