Json Document search in Oneview & Show document ID

Hi All,

I have created JSON data catalog in ION and define two file connection point. drop file into input location and send to output location.

When I check it in ION oneview , I can see it .

When I use ION BOD , we can search it using document ID, But there is no specific way to search JSON document. When I define JSON document in catalog , I have defined identifier, is there any way to search JSON document using identifier.

As a example, Item Master BOD can search using Item Number, Can I search Item Master JSON document using item Number.

There is another limitation with file connector, When we want to write JSON document , we can give dynamic values. as an example My item master json document should save

"Item Master" + Ioo1 .json

But this feature available with BOD, we can use document ID to take item number. because it registered as document ID.

Not sure I understand the question, because as you say you can dynamically define the file name when you are writing out the file.

For example:

[document_id].json

Just press CTRL + SPACE when your cursor is in the filename field. So in this way the actual document id will replace what is in the [] when creating the file.

BODs typically have a single document ID to identify the contents of the XML file. JSON and ndjson files frequently have multiple tuples or "rows" of data with potentially many primary keys ("Identifier Path").

As such, a single JSON payload may have tens or hundreds of identifier paths and OneView only presents the data object without an ID since there's no one ID to present.

Does your JSON payload only contain one complete record rather than multiples? If so, you may wish to submit an enhancement request to the Infor ION queue to support indexed IDs for single-record/document payloads.

Hi Priyantha,

Unfortunately, you cannot search for specific identifier paths from within a multi-tuple (multi-row). OneView doesn't index all of the unique values within a single file as it's possible for there to be hundreds, if not thousands, of unique rows.

If you open up the timeline for your MITMAS object, you'll see that there's a payload icon that you can double click in order to inspect the contents of the object.

If you're looking for a specific record and the file it's found within and you're sending the data to Data Lake, you could run the following query through Compass:

SELECT infor.DataObjectID(), infor.lastModified(), * FROM MITMAS

Using the synthetic functions infor.dataObjectID() and infor.lastModified() retrieve storage-level metadata associated with the row of data you're looking at. In that case, you'll see the Data Lake object address and can further take that address value and drill down to that file address within Atlas.

Document ID is a payload property for all messages. As Mike notes , it is commonly not used for JSON as they are multiple. What would you use in that case? Would it be something like a batch number?

Whatever is producing the payload could include a document ID and it would show and be available.

There are also 3 custom properties that you can define for each objects use that are useful in filters and other processing.

And there are several helpful properties such as Batch size and Batch sequence, and instances

I checked custom property, How can we set values to custom property. How can we set values to these batch ID or custom propery .

Data Catelog , I can create 3 custom properties. But I don't have idea , how to set values to custom property.

Hi Kevin,

for newline-delimited JSON I agree with you, but what's for conventional JSON? According to ION Desk User Guide, the identifier can be used to identify a single instance. I've created multiple custom JSON with defined identifier, but the value is not used in OneView. This makes it very difficult to work with Sync.Error for exception handling as no BODID is given in such Sync.Error-BODs to get the source document.

Is there any other way to get those documents?

Hi Thomas,

you are right it is difficult to identify your objects in OneView.

For example the following JSON, which I consider batchNumber as identifier ID.

Do we know when this will be implemented? or a workaround to have the identifierID seen in OneView?
