We're a hybrid ST Lawson (Payroll, HR, Absence Mgmt) and MT Landmark (CSF, SM, GHR, Talent) customer in the planning phase for our next Lawson Patch Packet Bundle Upgrade. Our current version is PPB 17.2 and we'll be upgrading to the next available PPB per (KB2068125).
We're looking for ideas and/or test plans on how other ST Lawson customers plan to test their Patch Packet Bundle upgrades. Last year, we upgraded from PPB version 12 to 17.2 and were told by Infor to just test everything. The products.zip file for our upgrade last year contained over 1,000 Readmes, which were not only impossible to read/decipher but also not helpful in identifying what was truly changing. Our test plan last year was extensive and included performing two complete parallel pay cycles and testing all inbound / outbound interfaces to/from our Lawson Test system.
Any thoughts or best practices for how other ST Lawson clients plan to efficiently test their next PPB upgrade would be welcomed and appreciated. Thanks....
