BLDSXXILES - how to get it to run?

I just was perusing the community and saw a post referencing this command - I had never heard of it so I wanted to try it out as it sounds pretty useful. But I can't get it to run. I just get this error.

Starting bldxffiles:

bldxffiles input param summary:
UserName is: cwbrunel
RptUser Name is: NT0000003e
Single Print File is: VL604.csv
PrintFilePath is: VL604.prt

GetDtlFileInfo Returned Status = 1 - .dtl File was Not Found
E:lsf10tstlawprintVBSCHOOLS_CWBRUNEL estvl604> ^C

I am sitting in the print file folder where the .prt file is. Does it still require a file pathname?

Here's an example of NOT using the full path

D:lawsonlawsonprint>bldxffiles -SP -F lawbatch .MS_lawbatchac121xxp411 AC121.prt

Starting bldxffiles:

bldxffiles input param summary:
Single Print File is: AC121.prt
PrintFilePath is: .MS_lawbatchac121xxp411
Using Input param values to locate print file:
Converting file to PDF:

bldxffiles PDF file Conversion successfull

PDF only

Yes, it does. Here is a sample command using the -S option to create a csv file of a specific print file

blxffiles -SC wmsn_pbelsky %lawdir%printwmsn_pbelskyHR155PJBS1 HR155.prt

This worked for me in lid whether I was in the print folder or not.

From your output it looks like you are not specifying a print (.prt) file as the print file parameter. Which options are you trying to use? Could you send your command string? You can also take a look at the System Utilities Reference Guide, which has several pages on blxffiles.

The VL604.prt is the print file that I am using in the parameter string. I wanted to run it for a single file - a .prt file, and convert to a .csv file.

The file is located in this folder, and that is where I was sitting when I ran the command.

E:lsf10tstlawprintVBSCHOOLS_CWBRUNEL estvl6041

If I run the command like this: bldxffiles -SC cwbrunel VL604.prt

I get this error. ERROR: To Few Parameters

If I run it like this: bldxffiles -S -C cwbrunel VL604.prt

I get this:

Error while processing .dtl file

This is the contents of the folder that I am sitting in:

I have read the guide - I just don't understand it. That is why I am asking here. :-)

I use it in IPA on a SysCommand node to convert a file on lawson server to pdf. I have the full path in my command:

bldxffiles -SP scmbatch *L/print/inforbc_scmbatch/IC140ORW1/1 IC140HORIV.prt

Here is the results log:

I don't see that your command string contains the path. In the command string I sent previously:

blxffiles -SC wmsn_pbelsky %lawdir%printwmsn_pbelskyHR155PJBS1 HR155.prt

"%lawdir%printwmsn_pbelskyHR155PJBS1" is the path.

I was going by the poster that said a full path was not needed. So it does not matter where you are sitting you still need a full server pathname? FWIW - I had tried it using a path as well. Still got the error. I'll try again. Maybe I fat-fingered it.
