Derived Fields

Hello, we are using Landmark 11.0.37 and GHR 11.0.34. My question is regarding the use of Derived fields. We have created a number of these fields and use them within GHR, SSD and the Infor Process Designer. Can the data from these fields be made available in SQL Server Management Studio?

I don't think so. they are not stored in the database.

You can export them in IPA.

Only Landmark runtime knows about and can evaluate DerivedFields. This means the UI, ISD, IPA and web services (direct or ION API) can get at them. They are not persisted, by definition.

Thank you! I thought as much, but just wanted to double check. I think I might create a user field, and have an IPA populate this new field with the contents of the derived field on a schedule. Then, this data will be available in SQL in the UserFieldStorage table. Do you agree with this approach or can suggest another solution? Thanks again.

I would strongly advise against that. you would have to sync the derived field with the user field

If possible can you create the same derived logic in SQL. It would be easier.
